It's now almost 2 years since the relocation and it will be 16 years next April since the list was first created. At the time it was created there were no other lists or online groups for parents seeking information and support specifically relating to autism. Now there are thousands and parents now face the dilemna of "sorting the wheat from the chaff"...so much information with too much of it 'unreliable' at best and 'snake-oil salesmen' around every corner. Yet throughout its existence the Autism List has survived without any hidden agendas or membership fees due to the goodwill of those members who have devoted their own time, energy and money to keep it as a place where parents of autistic children can seek reliable information and support either from the archives or by sending their questions to the list. The list needs your questions to keep doing what it was designed to do!
Happy New Year To All!
The relocation from St John's server has been completed and the Autism List at this site is now active and fully functional.
Members are being added to the new list and should receive notification in the form of a "Welcome" message that they have been added very shortly. Over the next few days I will be updating member's subscription options to match those that were on the listserv as of today. Members can assist me by resetting their options themselves if they wish after they receive the message which will contain instructions for doing that. However, if the new options selected are different from those currently on the listserv, please let me know that you have changed those. Members who are unsubscribing do not have to notify me.
The relocation of the Autism List from St Johns University to this site will be completed shortly.
Members will receive notification of the changeover date next week.
